Supporting Local Heroes: Our Experience at The Gems Cup 2025

We had the incredible opportunity to participate in something truly special – The Gems Cup, a charity polo event in support of Gems for Gems. Gems assists thousands of survivors of domestic abuse every year by focusing on empowerment and economic recovery.
GEMS CUP | Where Sport Meets Purpose
Held at the stunning Calgary Polo Club in Dewinton, Alberta, The Gems Cup wasn't just about the elegance of polo or the glamour of the event – it was about making a real difference. This unique charity event supports Gems for Gems, an organization dedicated to helping survivors of domestic abuse through trade school scholarships, financial literacy programs, and resilience training.
As we watched international polo star, Fred Mannix give a live demonstration on the field, we couldn't help but think about how travel and new experiences can be transformative – much like the second chances this organization provides to survivors looking to rebuild their lives.
A Day of Connection and Community
What struck us most about the event was the sense of community. From the moment the gates opened at noon until the after-party wrapped up at 10 PM, guests were immersed in an experience that combined sport, sophistication, and most importantly, purpose.

Why This Matters to Us
